A Peaceful Farewell to a Faithful Friend Who Will Forever Remain in Our Hearts
Farewell, Betty. Our sweet Betty has crossed the rainbow bridge. She came into our lives in July 2024—rescued in the dead of winter. We found her chained to a house, soaked from the rain, her body caked in mud.
That was the only life she had ever known. We didn’t think twice—we stepped in. She was an elderly dog, invisible to the world. She had never felt love, freedom, or the comfort of a warm bed, a full belly, or clean water. But from that moment on, her story changed forever.
Thanks to the efforts of the Pack, Betty spent nearly a year in a loving home. She had a family, including her canine siblings—Chocolate, Coco, and Alma—who, like her, had been rescued from the streets of Valparaíso.
This is why we do what we do. It’s not about us—it’s about them. Each rescue is a life transformed, a story rewritten—from one of pain to one of love. It’s work that demands heart, strength, commitment, and sometimes tears. But above all, it reminds us—again and again—that it’s worth it. We know we healed her soul. Today, we say goodbye with heavy hearts but with deep peace, knowing that the past year gave Betty the dignity she had always deserved: a life filled with love, warmth, and kindness. We imagine her now, running free—maybe beside Minerva, a dog she resembled so much. Perhaps they never met in this life, but who’s to say? The streets are wide, and the hearts of dogs find each other when there’s love. We love you forever, Betty. Always
