On her Instagram Stories, Underwood posted a photo of her ’80s-era, oscillating Galaxy electric fan. It’s an appliance she had since she was a kid, and it’s still working today, four decades later.
Not everybody’s got a fan like Underwood’s, but a lot of listeners can probably relate to the sentiment of why she loves the object so much.
It’s a vintage, quality-made item that was built to last for life. Many people feel like that’s an increasingly rare quality, and that today’s appliances are often more disposable and flimsily built.

“Modern crap made today: Broken and useless in two weeks,” Underwood wrote alongside the photo of the fan.
“This fan from my ’80s childhood: Will be passed down one day to my grandchildren,” the singer continued, along with the hashtag, “#StillWorks.”

Underwood’s post will likely spark some nostalgia for listeners of a certain age. The fan’s chunky base, brown blades and heavy-duty switches just scream, “I grew up in the ’80s.”
What Else Is Going on at Carrie Underwood’s House?
When she’s not out on the road, Underwood keeps busy with more domestic pursuits. She frequently shares photos and videos of the goings-on in her kitchen and garden.
Most recently, the singer canned some moose meat stew and showed off her homemade hot sauce.
Underwood has also been known to use her singing talents close to home, leading worship at her local church in Franklin, Tenn.
Most recently, she brought one of her biggest hits, “Jesus Take the Wheel,” to that congregation.
