Mystery Under the Tower of London Stairs: Two Children’s Skeletons and the Horrifying Truth .bongbenh
Imagine walking through the chilly corridors of the Tower of London, which once held some of England’s darkest secrets. More than 300 years ago, in 1674, workmen unearthed a mysterious wooden box buried 10 feet below the stairs near the White Tower. Inside were two tiny skeletons, believed to be those of Edward V and his brother Richard, Duke of York – the “Princes in the Tower” who had vanished without a trace in 1483. Could this be the answer to one of history’s most terrifying mysteries?
The boys, aged just 10 and 12, were suspected of having been murdered during the turmoil of the Wars of the Roses. Some believed their uncle, Richard III, had ordered their deaths to secure his throne. When the bones were found, the king’s surgeon, John Knight, declared them to be of similar age to the two princes. In fact, a 1933 analysis found marks on one of the skulls that suggested the boys may have been strangled. But what is the truth? Have we been getting this story wrong for centuries?
More recently, in 2018, historian John Ashdown-Hill discovered mitochondrial DNA linked to the two princes, opening the door to identifying the skeletons using modern technology. In addition, Professor Tim Thornton found clues linking one suspect – Sir James Tyrell – to the princes’ jewelry. These findings have left the community in a state of shock: Are we close to solving a centuries-old mystery? Or is there a larger conspiracy at work?
Today, the debate over exhumation and DNA testing is as heated as ever. Some say it would be disrespectful to disturb the remains of the two boys, while others crave the truth, however painful it may be. Rumors are circulating that King Charles himself is considering authorizing this investigation, but will he dare face the secrets that could shake history?
🌹 What do you think? Are the two skeletons really princes? Or is this just a story fabricated to cover up a more horrifying truth? And if the DNA reveals something surprising, are you ready to accept the truth? Share your thoughts and spread the mystery! 🕵️♂️
