My owner hurried out of the house, there was no hug for me. The children didn’t play with me for as long as usual. There was no treat, no gift, no congratulations. Today was just a normal day, only I remembered it especially.

I curled up in the corner, looking out the door. 11 years – not a short time for a dog like me. I was no longer small, no longer as agile as the first day I came to this family. Was it because I had gotten old that people no longer paid attention to me?

I wasn’t angry, just a little sad. I still loved them, still loyal as I had been for the past 11 years. I still wag my tail when they come home, still look forward to their gentle head pats, still ready to protect them if there is any danger lurking.

But today, I just want a little love…

Will someone notice? Will someone hug me tonight and say “Happy Birthday”? I don’t expect a big party, just a warm look, a small word is enough to make me happy…

And even if no one remembers, I will still love them – the way I have always done for the past 11 years. ❤️🐶
